1 year later

So we are at our one year mark with Brianna's implants. She is doing wonderful! She has corrected all speech issues, doing well in school and making lots of friends. It is so amazing what a difference a year makes. She can be playing in the backyard, and I can call her, and she hears me, and understands what I am saying. The implants have been such a blessing. We have had our ups and downs, but mostly just ups. It really has been a great year. Brianna's IEP for next year is staying the same. And she has a field trip with the other hearing services kids in the area next month. She is so excited. It really gives her a chance to spend time with kids that are going through the same set of circumstances. I am blessed to have such a wonderful daughter. This summer is going to be a busy one, but I will keep updating!

New Year - Same old Brianna

It's been such a wonderful journey so far. Sometimes I forget how far Brianna has come and how far we have come as a family. The other day, I was talking to Brianna, her back was turned away from me (I was cooking and she was at the table playing with playdough). We were just having one of those mom-daughter conversations about nothing, and yet everything. That type of conversation would not have been as easy a few months ago. I am so greatful for this whole process.
Brianna has been using her iPod quite successfully, there is a cable that came with her CI that connects to the iPod and it works well for her. She can only listen to the iPod in one ear, but that is perfect for now. She received a Nintendo DS for Christmas, and has been addicted to that since then! She takes it everytime we go in the car. That's about it for updates today!

Hope you all are well and take care!
